New Relic Inc., the SaaS web application performance management (APM) provider, announced today that it has expanded the breadth of its leading web application performance analysis service to include monitoring of web apps built using the Python programming language. The addition of Python to New Relic’s existing support for Ruby, PHP, Java and .NET solidifies its position as the only true polyglot SaaS APM tool available today.
"Used actively in production by more than 12,000 customers, New Relic is the premier SaaS-based application performance management platform for today’s web apps, which are increasingly built with multiple languages on multiple deployment platforms," said New Relic founder and CEO Lew Cirne. "Never before have developers and IT operations teams had a single tool for monitoring and analyzing business-critical web application environments in the cloud and in the datacenter."
New Relic is the only SaaS web application performance tool that monitors the entire application, from the end-user experience down to the line of code. With a single product and a single user-interface, New Relic lets application deployment teams see the entire stack, front to back, in a real-time performance browser-based dashboard that offers 24x7 access to actionable performance data.
"Today’s announcement represents a great deal of hard work not only by the New Relic team but also by members of the Python community who continue to help us craft a superb tool for monitoring Python apps," said Graham Dumpleton, lead engineer for New Relic’s Python initiative and author of mod_wsgi a popular HTTP server module that enables hosting of Python apps on Apache. "I look forward to sharing New Relic with the Django community at Djangocon 2011 this week."
