On February 25, New Relic is hosting New Relic Now+, an event where we'll unveil new product innovations designed to enhance your observability capabilities. This post guides you through what to expect and how to prepare your environment for these upcoming changes.
What's Happening at New Relic Now+
The event will feature:
- New company announcements
- Showcases of our latest product innovations
- Expert guidance on implementing new features
These innovations aim to address common business challenges and improve your ability to create better digital experiences for your customers.
Preparing Your Environment
To ensure you can immediately benefit from these new features, take the following steps before the event:
- Agent management:
- Update your browser agent to version 1.268.0 or newer, with Pro | SPA+ enabled.
- Update your mobile agents for Android to version 7.6.0 or newer and iOS to version 7.5.1 or newer.
- Update your infrastructure agents on your hosts to version 1.59.0 or newer.
- Check user permissions:
- Verify that your custom roles have the Live Chart URL permission enabled. (This permission is disabled on every default role.)
- Set up distributed tracing:
- Verify that distributed tracing is enabled on your APM agents. (This setting is enabled by default on all APM agents for the last several years.)
- Review cloud integrations:
- If applicable, integrate your AWS MSK clusters (using either CloudWatch Metric Streams or traditional API polling) with New Relic.
- Review your tagging policies:
- Ensure your entities are tagged with ownership. We recommend using the key: team, but any key you’re already using works.
Completing these tasks now will position you to take full advantage of the new features as soon as they're available.
