Tier 3 Enhances Enterprise-Ready PaaS with New Relic Application Management

Integrated app management combines with Tier 3 Web Fabric to create an unparalleled solution for deploying and managing business-critical apps

SAN FRANCISCO — August 23, 2012 — New Relic, Inc., the SaaS-based cloud application performance management provider, announced today its availability in Tier 3 Web Fabric, the Tier 3 multi-lingual platform as a service (PaaS). Customers of Tier 3 Web Fabric can now take advantage of New Relic, integrated free of charge, for deep, real-time visibility into application performance.

Web Fabric accelerates enterprise developer opera¬tions with quick and easy application deployment and management. Users of Web Fabric can deploy applications in minutes, while Web Fabric’s intelligent systems handle the details of capacity provisioning, load balancing, auto-scaling, and applica¬tion health monitoring. Because Web Fabric runs on Tier 3’s Enterprise Cloud Platform – a VMware vCloud® Powered Service, developers get the reliability and performance they need with the ease and agility they want. This allows developers to focus on busi¬ness innovation without sacrificing stringent enterprise security requirements. Web Fabric leverages Cloud Foundry and Iron Foundry to support the broadest set of languages and frameworks (including .NET, Java, Node.js, Ruby, PHP, and Python) while ensuring interoperability across clouds.

New Relic is integrated into Tier 3 Web Fabric free of charge. When you create your Web Fabric environment, Tier 3 automatically provisions a New Relic account for you at no cost. For each application deployed to Web Fabric, regardless of the language/framework that the application was written in, New Relic captures deep information about response time, throughput, error rates and more. The new Tier 3 Control Panel dashboard shows a subset of the New Relic metrics that give you a picture of overall application health with single-sign-on into your New Relic account for detailed performance data.

“Enterprise developers today must build apps that meet high standards for performance, stability and scalability, and to meet this challenge they need a proven platform and a proven tool that provides real-time, code-level visibility," said Jared Wray, Tier 3 chief technology officer. "New Relic’s application monitoring and analytic capabilities combined with the Tier 3 Enterprise Cloud Platform with Web Fabric provides enterprise developers with this level of visibility for enhanced agility and rapid development of new features.”

"As enterprises rapidly embrace cloud services, they want to ensure their cloud-based apps are delivering the highest standard of performance and availability,” says Bill Lapcevic, vice president of business development at New Relic. “ With our application monitoring as a standard feature in Web Fabric, together Tier 3 and New Relic are providing our customers with the best tools for identifying and resolving potential performance issues in their business-critical applications."

Tier 3 customers have three options for easily accessing New Relic in Tier 3’s Enterprise Cloud Platform. Customers can leverage free New Relic Standard by signing up through our partnership, they can contact Tier 3 to learn more about Web Fabric, or they can select to deploy New Relic as an optional software package as they configure and deploy complex environments via Tier 3’s cloud orchestration feature, Blueprints.
