New Relic x AWS GameDay: Houston
Join us on Wednesday, March 11 at McCormick & Schmick's for a special New Relic AI Observability GameDay challenge. We'll kick it off with an introduction to New Relic AI and demos, followed by two hours of friendly competition. It will be an immersive and collaborative learning experience that tests skills in implementing AWS solutions with integrated New Relic use cases to solve real-world problems in a gamified, risk-free environment.
The scenario
Fictional company Unicorn.Rentals has launched Uniflix, an ambitious new streaming platform. The backend team quietly built what they thought was a resilient microservices architecture, but now the cracks are showing.
The AI-powered chatbot is failing with timeout errors, video streams are inexplicably slow, critical services are running without any alert coverage, and nobody has visibility into AI token consumption. To make matters worse, service level compliance is failing, and team ownership is murky at best.
Your mission
You are the Backend Observability Response Team.
Use New Relic to diagnose these issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes across the Uniflix backend. You'll work with APM, AI Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, Alerts, Dashboards, Service Levels, and team ownership tools to restore order. Your team can split up to investigate different problem areas in parallel, then reconvene to coordinate your findings.
