Introducing Azure + New Relic AI innovations to reduce MTTR and improve productivity

New agentic AI capabilities bring Intelligent Observability insights directly into developer, ITOps, DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering workflows on Azure.

The pace of AI adoption is accelerating, with global AI spending forecast to top $2 trillion in 2026, according to Gartner. Microsoft Azure’s continued revenue growth reflects this rapid acceleration. Yet, engineering and IT teams still confront major hurdles: disjointed workflows that slow troubleshooting, constant context-switching, and developer toil that increase mean time to resolution (MTTR) as systems become more complex.

To unlock the power of AI, developer, ITOps, DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering teams need Intelligent Observability:

AI agents are poised to transform how IT and development teams work, but leaders and practitioners need Intelligent Observability within their workflows to realize the full potential of agentic AI,” said New Relic Chief Product Officer Brian Emerson. “With our new integrations, we bring our AI-strengthened observability directly into Microsoft Azure products and services so teams can automate workflows and surface actionable insights, without having to context-switch. Together with Microsoft, we are helping more businesses harness the power of AI for growth.

At Microsoft Ignite 2025 this week, we’re thrilled to announce powerful new integrations with Azure that deliver New Relic’s Intelligent Observability insights directly to the Azure SRE Agent and Microsoft Foundry. In addition, we’re also excited to launch New Relic Azure Autodiscovery, a unified, real-time infrastructure solution, along with New Relic Monitoring for SAP on Microsoft Marketplace.

At the core of these new innovations is the New Relic Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, which enables agentic AI integrations to deliver Intelligent Observability insights within Azure. As a result, we can meet customers where they work to address the core challenges developers, ITOps, DevOps, SREs, and platform engineers face with the complex, non-deterministic nature of AI agents and distributed systems.

Powering the Azure SRE Agent with Intelligent Observability insights

The Azure SRE Agent now integrates with the New Relic MCP Server to help teams diagnose and resolve production issues faster. When an alert fires or a deployment is recorded in New Relic, the Azure SRE Agent calls the New Relic MCP Server for Intelligent Observability insights. By using New Relic’s telemetry data, this integration provides the intelligence necessary to automate incident detection, root cause analysis, and remediation across your entire Azure environment.

Boosting productivity for teams who manage AI applications and agents with Microsoft Foundry

New Relic Monitoring for Microsoft Foundry ingests logs and metrics from Azure into New Relic, delivering a nuanced and insightful dashboard view of an application or agent’s performance. This monitoring feature provides IT and development teams with the Intelligent Observability insights they need to understand their AI applications and agents.

Providing a unified, real-time infrastructure solution tailored for Azure

For SREs and platform engineers, fragmented visibility and observability gaps hinder timely troubleshooting. New Relic Azure Autodiscovery allows IT practitioners to: view a service’s full dependency maps, overlay configuration changes directly on performance graphs to pinpoint an incident’s root cause in real-time, and quickly discover unmonitored resources plus integrate them into observability workflows. This unified solution correlates infrastructure changes, telemetry, and configuration data to accelerate root cause analysis and eliminate blind spots.

Accelerating adoption of New Relic for SAP with Azure customers

We’re making it easier than ever for joint New Relic, SAP, and Azure customers to monitor their critical business applications. New Relic Monitoring for SAP Solutions is now available on Microsoft Marketplace to simplify procurement and centralize management of multiple vendors. This solution delivers superior performance monitoring and predictive, complete insights for SAP and non-SAP systems—all without deploying agents in SAP.
