Michael Frendo is the Chief Technology Officer at New Relic, where he bridges product vision with technical execution to deliver maximum value to customers. Throughout his career, Michael has pioneered the disruption of foundational technologies across sectors including telecom, storage networking, unified communications, and security. Prior to New Relic, he served as CTO of Engineering at Proofpoint, where he led the company's AI vision and product integration across business units. He has also held global leadership roles at Cisco, Polycom, and Juniper, bringing over 25 years of experience spanning software and hardware development across SaaS, cloud, and security. Michael holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Western University, a master's degree in engineering, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from McMaster University.
