From our very beginning, a culture of mutual respect and belonging has been foundational to New Relic. We have always known that when people can safely bring their authentic selves to work, communities thrive and great things happen.
As we have grown into a global company with vibrant teams collaborating across India, Japan, Spain, the UK, Singapore, the U.S. and more, this commitment to workplace equity has traveled with us. Pride Month is a meaningful reminder of our daily responsibility to ensure our LGBTQIA+ employees everywhere feel valued, protected, and empowered to do their best work.
For this year’s Pride Month Community Volunteer Event, our team partnered with Point of Pride to write digital and handwritten notes of affirmation for transgender individuals. This collage is a snapshot of some of the encouraging notes our team created.
Demonstrating Our Commitment with a Perfect Human Rights Campaign Score
Our commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion goes beyond our daily culture – it is also deeply embedded in our global benefits and business practices. We recently participated in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, a benchmarking survey in the US that measures and rates businesses on their LGBTQIA+ workplace policies, practices, and benefits.
We are thrilled to share that we received a perfect score of 100 for the second year in a row, making us one of just 534 U.S. businesses to be recognized with this honor. This milestone is a true testament to our ongoing work and commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
"I am proud to lead the effort to earn this award. Multiple teams contribute to more than 100 questions about our benefits, business practices, and culture initiatives to determine if we are best-in-class in regard to LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace. It's a huge undertaking and massive accomplishment. As a Black gay man, this is more than a work accomplishment - it's personal.”

What Pride Looks Like at New Relic This Month
Our internal events this June highlight the intersecting layers of business, family, and community support:
- Pride & Business Fireside Chat: We kicked off the month by exploring the tangible benefits of inclusive policies with Thomas Lloyd (he/him), Chief Business & Operations Officer, and Erin Wier (she/her), VP, Talent Strategy & Development. They shared their executive thoughts on how equity isn't just the right thing to do; it directly drives innovation and makes us a better, stronger business for our Relics and our customers.
- Supporting Queer Youth: A conversation focused on allyship and action. We looked at the challenges facing the next generation and discussed how we can extend our support beyond our office walls to protect and uplift queer youth in our broader communities.
- Building Our Families with Carrot: Family looks different for everyone, and navigating fertility or adoption pathways can be uniquely complex for the LGBTQIA+ community. We sat down with our family-building partner, Carrot, to unpack the resources and benefits available to help our team members grow their families.
- Virtual Pride Parade: We’re wrapping up the month with a company-wide virtual celebration centered on the theme “What Pride Means to Me.” It's a space for storytelling, community, and connection.
We asked Rainbow Relics global co-chair Lisa Banks (she/her) to share her experience leading the ERG:
"Since becoming global co-chair of Rainbow Relics in 2023, I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with passionate colleagues from all over the world, while growing my leadership skills. Engaging directly with the leadership team here at New Relic to advocate for and represent our community has been a deeply rewarding experience."
