New Relic Expands Software Analytics Platform with Data Apps and Browser Instrumentation Features
Software Analytics Makes Data Accessible and Actionable Within Organizations
Software analytics company New Relic, Inc. (NYSE:NEWR) announced today the addition of two new powerful analytics features to New Relic Insights - Data Apps and Browser Instrumentation. Data Apps allows technical users to create easy-to-use self-service analytics reports for business users to search, click, and drill down through their software analytics. Browser Instrumentation provides companies with a broader set of data to analyze how their customers are interacting with their web applications by adding our single-line API calls to their apps.
Announced at FutureStack14, Data Apps helps democratize data by making reports more easily available to multiple teams throughout a company, allowing them to better understand the customer experience with their web and mobile apps. As companies move towards having software play a critical role in their customer relationships, multiple individuals across an entire organization need to be able to make real-time, data-driven business decisions based on the performance, user experience and business outcomes of their apps.
“As power dashboard users, we found Data Apps immediately valuable in terms of consolidating our multitude of dashboards into single applications to more easily communicate between the engineering, product, support and even the sales team,” said Scott Hopkins, director of product management at FlightStats. “The ability to quickly parse and drill down into the data has enabled us to share the information in a way that makes sense to non-technical team members so we can all make more strategic business decisions."
With Browser Instrumentation, user interactions and dynamic page changes within your web application can now be analyzed in New Relic Insights. For example, for companies leveraging popular single page app frameworks like AngularJS and Ember.js, you can now have a window into the behavior of your users as routing changes occur and as those users engage with any part of your web app. This additional information will enable any company that deploys New Relic Insights for their web app to more effectively increase conversion rates, establish user engagement patterns, prioritize feature development and target the right market segments. For New Relic APM customers, this feature will be available without code changes.
“We believe that product teams need software analytics to understand the customer experience to build great software,” said Todd Etchieson, vice president of product management, analytics at New Relic. “And in order to compete effectively and exceed customer expectations, teams throughout the entire company need real-time answers to detailed questions about user engagement and customer experience. We see Data Apps and Browser Instrumentation as two important milestones towards our mission of unlocking the value of your applications data across your organization.”
