Today, I’m excited to announce that influential analyst firm Gartner has named New Relic a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring for the eighth time in a row.

In the report, Gartner placed New Relic in the Leaders quadrant for its ability to execute and completeness of vision. And with the introduction of the New Relic One observability platform, our position continues to move up and to the right.

Trusted and loved by customers

At New Relic, we are focused on helping our customers solve their toughest IT challenges, from cloud adoption and DevOps to delivering high-quality digital customer experiences. For example, WP Engine gets the observability it needs to provide peak performance for thousands of WordPress customers. Meanwhile, Picnic—the fastest-growing online supermarket in Europe—is building custom apps on New Relic One to manage grocery stock in real time.

Based on Gartner’s customer reference survey results, our users are satisfied with their overall vendor and service relationship, and rate New Relic above the mean for its business analysis and service monitoring capabilities. New Relic continues to be the highest-rated APM vendor in Gartner’s Peer Insights. A continued focus on helping our customers succeed is at the heart of our business.

Open, connected, and programmable

At New Relic, our teams are continually innovating. Today, New Relic delivers the only observability platform complemented by capabilities spanning digital experience monitoring (DEM), infrastructure, logs, metrics, analytics, and programmability. New Relic One helps companies that are leveraging the power of modern software technologies, including cloud technology and containerization, to build, scale, and operate business-critical applications.

Our customers require a single observability platform for all their critical data, with applied intelligence and automation technologies that seamlessly fit into their unique business processes. The platform enables them to optimize their software and deliver better customer experiences.

The New Relic platform includes core APM, Browser, Infrastructure, Insights, Logs, Mobile, Serverless, and Synthetics capabilities. Customers have a choice of modules to implement, including deep application analytics, end-user experience, and infrastructure components. The platform is built on a single data model, allowing sharing and analysis of data in context, across all modules.

Simplifying complex software environments

The New Relic One platform extends capabilities beyond data captured by proprietary agent technologies by allowing customers to ingest data from any source, including competing products. The platform also enables users to develop applications, combining data, and creating views of customers’ environments across multiple domains.

Customers can now create application views based on their own definitions, pulling data from New Relic agents and external data sources. With New Relic One, enterprises can connect their teams to the real-time health of their customer experience, so that they can accelerate the innovation of their digital business.

Support for modern, cloud-native technologies helps improve digital customer experience

Following the acquisition of SignifAI in February 2019 to enhance our AIOps capabilities, we expanded support for serverless environments with the acquisition of IOpipe in November 2019. IOpipe’s technology adds more in-depth support for AWS Lambda monitoring.

Additionally, we announced the availability of New Relic Logs, a new log management capability that allows teams to manage log data with application and infrastructure data efficiently. Ad hoc searches return queries instantaneously, all in a single, highly-scalable platform.

New Relic’s roadmap includes expanding support for public clouds, modern architectures such as serverless, microservices, and Kubernetes, as well as open source technologies, including Istio, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Zipkin.
