New Relic to Provide Application Management for Engine Yard Solo
New Relic’s RPM™ Rails performance management solution helps organizations deploying Rails in the cloud
New Relic, Inc., the leading provider of Ruby on Rails application performance management solutions, today announced that it has reached agreement with Engine Yard to provide their customers using Engine Yard Solo with a free, fully supported license to RPM Lite.
Solo, the web-based platform for on-demand management of Ruby on Rails web application on Amazon’s cloud computing infrastructure was released by Engine Yard in January. RPM Lite is the entry-level version of RPM, the leading solution for managing Rails applications. Solo users will be able to create an RPM account automatically and begin to monitor their applications running in the Amazon EC2 cloud infrastructure minutes after deployment.
"New Relic and Engine Yard have a close partnership and this is further demonstration of that," said Tom Mornini, founder and chief technology officer of Engine Yard. "Both companies share a mutual interest in helping customers deploying Rails in the cloud to achieve optimal performance and low cost of ownership."
"We are pleased that Engine Yard will integrate RPM into their Solo offering," said Bill Lapcevic, vice president of business development for New Relic. "As more organizations rapidly deploy new capacity on cloud infrastructures like Amazon Web Services, they will need to monitor and manage those applications with the same ease and cost effectiveness. The RPM and Solo combination will allow them to do that."
The integration will be available by the end of March, 2009.
