New Relic, Inc., the SaaS-based cloud application performance management today announced that has joined the OpenStack™ community, a global collaboration of developers and technologists producing the open standard cloud-computing platform for both public and private clouds. Organizations deploying web applications on OpenStack can use New Relic to automatically monitor web apps in production and proactively identify and eliminate potential bottlenecks.

OpenStack is an open source project that strives to deliver standards-based solutions for all types of clouds by being simple to implement, massively scalable, and feature rich. The OpenStack technology consists of a series of interrelated projects delivering various cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage and networking.

New Relic works automatically with the OpenStack Platform, enabling app deployment teams to monitor the health and availability of web applications from the user experience, through the infrastructure, down to the application line of code. Additionally, New Relic has tested its solution on the OpenStack-based HP Cloud Services private beta and has successfully deployed and monitored an application on that platform.
