New Relic Recognized as a “Leader” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring for Third Year in a Row

San Francisco - 31 de Outubro de 2014

Software analytics company New Relic today announced the company has been recognized and positioned by Gartner as a “leader” for the third consecutive year in the “2014 Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring” report. A copy of the report is available here.

The October 28, 2014 report by Gartner analysts Jonah Kowall and Will Cappelli noted an increased importance in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery method for Application Performance Management (APM) capabilities: “Users are growing ever more convinced that there is little or no functional or performance loss when consuming APM through a SaaS delivery mode. In fact, security and operations issues can often be reduced or eliminated by consuming SaaS technologies. At the same time, the advantages of a zero-management platform and reduced maintenance and continuous feature evolution are becoming ever more salient in a ‘do more for less’ and DevOps-influenced IT environment.”

In the report, Gartner also noted shifts in the functional emphasis of solutions in the changing APM market this year. “[D]riven by the increasing significance of mobile application endpoints and dynamic Web technology, EUM [end-user experience monitoring] is becoming even more important than it currently is to enterprises.” Since the founding of the company, New Relic built its APM solution as a SaaS offering, foreseeing the value for businesses large and small and across various industries to have scalable, easy-to-use and data-driven analytics for their complex environments. New Relic has continued to evolve its software analytics suite to meet the company mission of making software analytics data accessible within organizations – from developers, to IT operations and beyond.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring report for the third consecutive year,” said Lew Cirne, founder and CEO of New Relic. “It has been a transformative year for New Relic. We continued to build on our software analytics suite, which collectively offers data-driven businesses a comprehensive, full-stack software analytics platform. We continue to expand our vision and mission of developing useful and innovative tools to empower people to build and run the best modern software possible.”

Highlights thus far from 2014 include:

  • In February, New Relic announced the opening of its first international office, located in Dublin, Ireland, showing the company’s commitment to better serve New Relic’s customers in its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region and around the world.
  • In July, New Relic announced the general availability of New Relic Insights, a real-time analytics platform that collects, stores and presents valuable data directly from organizations’ software, and transforms the data into insights about their customers, applications and the business. Delivered as a cloud-based SaaS offering built atop New Relic’s purpose-built big data database platform, New Relic Insights empowers application developers, IT operations and business users alike to make ad hoc and iterative queries across trillions of data points and metrics and get answers in less than a second.
  • At New Relic’s second annual FutureStack conference in October, the company ushered in the next chapter of software analytics with notable product enhancements and by announcing plans to open up its software analytics cloud platform so customers can build their own custom “Data Apps.” New Relic expanded its software analytics suite to include synthetic monitoring, plus deeper stand-alone APM capabilities for browsers and mobile apps, as well as new real-time analytics enhancements.
  • Also at FutureStack, New Relic announced the acquisition of Ducksboard, a provider of real-time dashboards for tracking business metrics from a broad set of application sources. The addition of the Ducksboard technology complements the New Relic visualization expertise and expands the sources of data that are available to customers via the New Relic Software Analytics data cloud.
