Members of our Talent Acquisition team at RenderATL to connect with the global engineering community and share the opportunities available at New Relic.
As we celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day recently, we were reminded of the principles he shared to advocate for a more equal and just society. One of Dr. King’s ultimate goals was to create what he called the Beloved Community. This was a vision where all people are respected, cared for, and treated with dignity.
At New Relic, we are inspired by these principles as we work to build a culture of mutual respect and opportunity. While we are always learning and growing, we strive to create a workplace where every person feels empowered to contribute their unique talents to our shared success.
Finding Community and Strength in our ERGs
True to Dr. King’s vision of a single garment of destiny, we believe our collective strength comes from the wide range of views our employees bring to the table. All of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary and open to every Relic who wishes to participate:
- Access
- Rainbow Relics
- Relics of Color
- Veterans at New Relic
- Women at New Relic
Through these groups, we live out our One Team value. We believe that incorporating diverse perspectives is one of our greatest strengths. It allows us to challenge our own assumptions, solve complex problems more effectively, and build a better product for a global audience.
Observability for Good: Expanding Access
Dr. King often spoke about the importance of equal opportunity. Our Observability for Good program is designed to expand access to technology. By providing free platform access and 1000 GB of data ingest to nonprofits and community organizations, we help ensure that resourceful innovators have the tools they need to succeed.
Our partnership with CareerVillage.org is a great example. By providing high level observability, we supported their engineering team in building an AI career coach that provides expert advice to millions of students. This supports the goal of broadening career access, helping ensure that a person’s potential is not limited to their environment or existing professional network.
Turning Principles into Action
One way we support our Veterans at New Relic group is through fireside chats with team members who have served in the Armed Forces. These sessions provide a space to share personal experiences and offer practical tips on transitioning into a corporate environment. They also help our broader team learn how to better recognize the unique transferable skills veterans bring to the table during the interview process. These chats are open for all Relics to attend, fostering a culture where we can all learn from one another and build a more supportive workplace for those who have served.
We are also committed to casting a wide net for talent. We partner with various global organizations to ensure our job opportunities reach a broad audience of qualified candidates. By intentionally reaching out to a wide range of communities, we ensure that New Relic is shaped by the top talent and a variety of perspectives. This allows us to build a better product and a more innovative future for our global customers.
Recently Celebrating Our Global Day of Service
Relics in Denver, Colorado, serving lunch to the community at the Denver Rescue Mission.
Dr. King once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?" In that spirit, we celebrated our fourth annual Global Day of Service on January 27th. This was a company-wide initiative where Relics came together, both in-person and virtually, to make an impact in communities near and far.
We believe that being a supportive community means showing up for each other and our neighbors. If you are looking for a team that values hard work and the opportunity to make a real impact, we invite you to explore our Careers Page.
