Stax Networks Chooses New Relic to Enable Automatic Java Application Management in Amazon Cloud

With New Relic RPM integrated as part of Stax platform customers can instantly monitor and manage Java applications in the Cloud

San Francisco - 28 de Outubro de 2009

New Relic, Inc., the leading software-as-a-service provider of application performance management solutions, and Stax Networks, a leading provider of Java platform-as-a-service offerings for applications deployed on the Amazon EC2 Cloud, today announced that New Relic RPM has been integrated into the Stax console. The integration allows Stax customers to automatically monitor applications 24x7 and to troubleshoot incidents as they are deployed on EC2.

Stax provides the means to deploy web applications without the overhead of managing a data center. Servers are automatically provisioned, applications are automatically backed up and they are constantly monitored. Stax leverages Amazon EC2 to provide flexible scalability that customers only pay for when used. The integration of New Relic RPM adds deep, around-the-clock transaction visibility to the Stax platform, making it easier for customers to manage the performance of Java applications in the cloud.

"Organizations deploying Java applications on the Stax platform understand the value of having a responsive and flexible solution that can rapidly meet their needs," said Spike Washburn, Stax Networks CEO. "We’ve teamed with New Relic to offer application management services that give customers essential capabilities for monitoring application performance while successfully meeting their expectations for speed and agility. Additionally, New Relic RPM gives the Stax support team simultaneous visibility into our customers’ applications, allowing us to work collaboratively with them to ensure application health and availability."

"We are very pleased that Stax has chosen to provide New Relic’s application management capabilities to its customers," said Bill Lapcevic, New Relic vice president of business development. "Combining our solutions is an important step for enabling customer success as more and more companies deploy critical enterprise Java applications on Amazon EC2. Adding New Relic’s management capabilities to Stax robust platform will make it easier for customers to meet end-user expectations for superior online service."

Monitoring application performance in the Stax console is simple and automatic. Customers select the option to enable New Relic monitoring via the application configuration page in the Stax console. A wizard guides them through the RPM account setup process. Once New Relic monitoring is enabled, the application is launched with the New Relic agent automatically enabled, and the New Relic Dashboard will be displayed on the application’s Operations page.
