Jason Van Pelt is a senior software engineer on New Relic's distributed tracing team, where he focuses on understanding and building the perspectives customers need to quickly troubleshoot their systems. Since his early days in tech as a sys-admin—building and maintaining services and thousands of end-user systems—Jason dreamed of a monitoring system that could show him how everything fits together and easily pinpoint the source of issues. Since joining New Relic in 2013, he's had the pleasure of helping to build that experience.
