Student Account Verification Information

NOTE: If you already have a GitHub student account, or are using Github Education to verify your student status, you do NOT need to fill out the form.

Complete the Student Status form below to verify your student account with one of our partners and add your New Relic account number. To minimize delay, please select your partner and use the same email address that you used with that partner.

Student status verification FAQs

Yes. If you do not have a free account already, you can sign up here.

You must have an account with one of our education partners in order to access New Relic for Students. If you are a current college, university, or technical school student, you are eligible to access the student account through GitHub Education.* Through our other partners, you must meet their requirements in order to access New Relic for Students.

*Proof of current student status is required.

Depending on the education partner you are affiliated with, verification time will vary.

GitHub Education: Verification time will vary depending upon the information that you have submitted to GitHub. To minimize delay, review the list of acceptable documentation for verification of your student status here.

All other partners: Expect approximately 5 to 10 business days. To minimize delay, please ensure that you fill out the form completely and correctly select your partner.

In your New Relic account, go to Help > Resources > New Relic for Students > Manage Account Eligibility > GitHub Education and follow the steps.

In your GitHub account settings, visit Applications > Authorized OAuth Apps to check if you have authorized the New Relic OAuth app. If you granted this application access to your GitHub account, you should hear back from GitHub as soon as they have verified your student status.

You’ll receive an introductory email from New Relic welcoming you to the program along with information about the benefits of your student account.

You will have access to New Relic for Students for as long as you are a student. Please note that you may be asked to re-verify your student status at any time. Failure to re-verify your status or supply sufficient proof will result in being downgraded to a Free account.
