Every web transaction is measured and named after the controller function with both before and after methods. Transaction traces will also provide insights into rendering via the Genshi, Jinja2 or Mako template libraries. The calls to render_genshi(), render_jinja2() and render_mako() are shown for additional context.
In addition to counting and timing the calls made to the database, New Relic will automatically capture slow queries and report the underlying database's explain plans. This makes it easy to find that missing index and see the improvement it makes. We have full support for any database adapter that is DBAPI2 compliant.
Exception logging is provided for uncaught exceptions which would otherwise generate 500 responses from the framework. New Relic automatically intercepts these exceptions and reports them along with their stack traces, making it easy to fix errors that might otherwise go unnoticed in production.
