Bringing intelligence where users prefer to work

Since the launch of ChatGPT on November 30, 2022, the technological landscape has experienced a profound transformation. Far from simple chatbots, today AI has become essential for modern enterprises.

This accelerated  adoption is evident across all sectors: from manufacturers such as Ford Motors employing AI for predictive maintenance and optimized schedules, to financial institutions like Barclays utilizing AI for real-time fraud detection. This widespread integration underscores a critical shift: organizations are increasingly relying on AI to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and ensure business continuity in an increasingly complex and competitive digital environment.

This is why New Relic, a leader in intelligent observability, introduced the industry’s first AI Assistant, and today, we’re thrilled to announce it’s now generally available to all customers. New Relic understands the challenges its customers face in navigating a rapidly evolving digital landscape where maximizing uptime and achieving operational efficiency remain critical goals. By providing a comprehensive, innovative, and actionable system of intelligence, New Relic AI empowers its customers to achieve breakthrough results such as improved uptime and reliability with AI-powered insights across your stack while staying ahead of the curve.

In this blog we’ll run through key examples of NRAI and why it remains the best-in-class solution in the market. We’ll cover some key use-cases and talk about how all users in any organization can benefit from NRAI, regardless of skillset.

Architected to bring insights for all

New Relic AI, part of the New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform, is a compound AI system, that combines causal, predictive, deterministic, probabilistic, agentic AI and best-in-class technologies in order to turn raw data into predictive and actionable insights that automates tasks, generates intelligent recommendations, and even proposes and executes changes based on user intent, so businesses can deliver amazing digital experiences, accelerate modernization, reduce cloud and system costs, and innovate faster.

NRAI leverages our powerful  New Relic query language or NRQL as the backbone for querying your telemetry data within the platform. Whether you’re tracking errors or trying to prevent them through predictive analytics, NRQL provides you with those business-critical insights, FAST!. New Relic AI brings the power of NRQL to any user through natural language processing (NLP) within our large language model (LLM); meaning you no longer need to understand or type any query syntax; you simply use natural language to get the insights you need. Here’s an example:

Let’s say we want to see all the services with errors for all the applications we are monitoring in our New Relic environment within the last 24 hours.

Now with the NR AI Assistant, we can ask the question through voice or text; “Show us all the critical errors across our applications within the last 24 hours” which will give this as a  result.

Query and Chart

(fig 1 Query and Chart)

This chart provides some idea of what is happening, but still does not show where the problem is. We are taking NR AI one step further, and now we can and simply ask NRAI to summarize the results of this query and chart, which would produce the summary below:

Error summary

(fig 2. Error summary)

As we can see, the use of NRAI drastically reduces the time and effort in efficiently querying and understanding issues in your environment; ultimately accelerating both root cause analysis and mean time to resolution (MTTR) as well as preventing downtime.

By allowing users to use natural language to ask questions about their environment, effectively democratizing  observability insights for every application developer, SRE, product manager, QA engineer and even line of business/C-suite executives regardless of skill set.

The agentic advantage

Today's enterprises often struggle with disconnected data and fragmented workflows, particularly between their observability tools and IT service management (ITSM) and software development lifecycle (SDLC) platforms like ServiceNow and GitHub. This creates significant bottlenecks such as:

  • Slow Issue Resolution: Critical insights from performance monitoring are stuck in one system, while incident management happens in another, leading to delays in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems.
  • Reduced Productivity: Teams waste valuable time switching between tools, manually correlating information, and lacking a unified view of their digital landscape.
  • Suboptimal Decision-Making: Without real-time, comprehensive context, it's hard to make quick, informed decisions about system health and business impact.
  • Limited Automation: The disconnect prevents true automation of workflows, increasing manual toil and the potential for human error.

New Relic solves these critical challenges by offering powerful Agentic Integrations that create a System of Intelligence which brings deep observability insights and automation directly into the tools and interfaces your teams prefer to work, such as ServiceNow, GitHub etc. Working in tandem with GenAI, New Relic offers these Agentic Integrations, soon to also GA on July 15, 2025, which go beyond a simple API data pull to provide deep, mission-critical insights and intelligent recommendations into the tools and workstreams where users prefer to work, resulting in:

  1. Smarter decisions: provides integrated, actionable insights from all IT & Business data
  2. Improved efficiency: Automates complex tasks and processes
  3. Intelligent collaboration: Consolidates and prioritizes teams, tools and interfaces

By integrating these AI capabilities into our Intelligent Observability Platform, we help businesses optimize their software systems and reduce the time spent on diagnosing and resolving issues, and ultimately eliminating the risk of downtime. These integrations not only streamline operations but also pave the way for self-healing systems, enhancing resilience and reducing downtime.
